Keynote Speaker: Dawn Nickel, PhD
Dawn Nickel is a thought leader in the women’s recovery sphere and the creator of SHE RECOVERS, currently the largest online platform dedicated to supporting women in recovery from behavioral health issues and related life challenges. Dawn started her own journey of recovery from a substance use disorder and domestic violence in 1987. She is a strong advocate for the view that every woman in or seeking recovery must be supported to find the tools and pathways that will work best for her as an individual.
In the summer of 2011, Dawn began to blog and created the SHE RECOVERS FACEBOOK PAGE to share her journey and to reach out to other women looking to find healing and happiness in recovery.
Since 2012, Dawn and her daughter/cofounder Taryn Strong (also in recovery) have dedicated their lives to growing SHE RECOVERS and its offerings so that more women (and more women from diverse backgrounds) have the access, resources, support and freedoms necessary to cultivate individualized and holistic pathways in order to find health, sustain long-term recovery, achieve their potential, and help other women to do the same.
SHE RECOVERS® creates welcoming spaces and transformative opportunities – online and in real life – to connect, support and empower recovering women.

Dear Friends of Mrs. Wilson's,
First we hope that you and your loved ones are healthy and safe. This is a time for making necessary changes to protect our families and community.
Second we would like to provide an update on how Mrs. Wilson’s is addressing the COVID-19 pandemic.
An emergency action plan has been implemented in the event that anyone were to display the symptoms of COVID-19 and both residents and staff have been informed of the necessary precautions and procedures. Additional cleaning and disinfecting products, paper products, and gloves have been purchased and regular cleaning and disinfecting is being done. To better safeguard the health of the residents and staff, outside activities have been limited and there are currently no outside visitors. The Monday in-house meeting has also been closed for women from the community. Online meetings are being attended by our residents and HIPPA compliant online sessions are being held to continue offering the much needed treatment services to our outpatient clients.
We will continue to monitor the situation and address concerns as they arise to the best of our abilities and in compliance with State and licensing regulations. The wellbeing of the women we serve will remain at the forefront of our mission.
In the same spirit of caution and restraint, we are reluctantly postponing this year’s annual spring fundraising event, which was scheduled for June 16th. This annual event has truly been a special occasion bringing together supportive donors, volunteers and alumnae. We look forward to the day, hopefully not far off, when we will be able to announce the new date for this event.
With best wishes and gratitude for your ongoing support,
The Mrs. Wilson's Team
